Privacy Policy

Soul Rush · PL Labs · Last updated August 24, 2026

This policy describes what information Soul Rush, published by PL Labs, handles when you play, and the choices you have. The short version: you can play the entire game, including the global leaderboard, without ever creating an account. If you choose to appear on the leaderboard, a name you type in and your score are made public. If you choose to sign in with Google (entirely optional, and only so your progress survives a reinstall), the game receives your Google account's email and name. Nothing else about you is asked for.

Information we collect

Soul Rush has no required account, login, or registration step. Every piece of information below is tied only to your device or, if you choose to use it, to a Google account you sign in with, never to a real-world identity we independently verify.

The leaderboard (optional)

If you choose to submit a run to the global leaderboard, the game sends: the display name you typed in (visible to everyone who views the board), your score and run duration, and a title you've selected. Alongside this, the app generates a random identifier on your device the first time you play, a string it invents itself and is not your Android advertising ID, IMEI, or any other real hardware identifier, and uses it together with a second random secret kept on your device, to prove that later updates to your score come from the same install. Neither value means anything outside Soul Rush, and both reset if you clear the app's storage or reinstall (unless you've linked a Google account — see below). Using the leaderboard is optional; the game is fully playable without ever submitting a score.

Friends (optional)

You can share your device's random identifier (shown in-game as your Soul ID) with someone else so you can each add the other as a friend. Adding a friend is mutual and immediate, there is no request to accept, and it makes your name, score, title, and daily streak visible to them on a private friends screen (your streak is not shown on the public global leaderboard, only to friends). Anyone who has your Soul ID can add you this way; removing a friend removes the connection for both sides at once. This feature is entirely optional and only usable once you already have a leaderboard entry.

Google Sign-In (optional)

Soul Rush's progress otherwise lives only on your device, so uninstalling the game or resetting your phone loses it permanently. If you choose to, you can sign in with a Google account from Settings so that your leaderboard entry, friends list, and cosmetic progress (see "Progress backup" below) can be restored after a reinstall. Signing in is never required to play, and declining or cancelling the Google account picker leaves you exactly as before, a guest with a device-only identity.

If you sign in, the game receives your Google account's email address and display name from Google, via Supabase (our backend provider), which verifies your Google identity on our behalf. We use this only to know which Google account is linked to which device, so we can hand your leaderboard entry back to you later; we do not read your Google contacts, calendar, files, or anything else Google may hold, and Soul Rush only ever asks for the minimum account information Google Sign-In provides.

One device may be linked to one Google account at a time, and one Google account can hold the link for one device's leaderboard entry. If you sign in on a second device with an account already linked elsewhere, the game refuses to move the link automatically. Instead you're shown the name and score already saved under that account and asked whether you want to restore it onto the new device — this never happens silently. Restoring a device this way issues it a freshly generated secret and invalidates the previous device's copy, so signing in elsewhere is also how you'd intentionally sign an old, lost, or reset device out.

Progress backup (optional, requires Google Sign-In)

If you're signed in with Google, the game backs up your shards, unlocked cosmetics, unlocked achievements and titles, your chosen Soul Power, and your daily streak count to our backend, as a single opaque bundle tied to your device identifier, so a reinstall on the same Google account can restore them. This bundle is never shown to anyone, including friends, and is used for nothing but giving it back to you. Your best score is also handed back on restore (whichever is higher between it and anything already set locally, so restoring can never lower a score you already have). Device settings (graphics, audio, frame rate) are never backed up, since they describe the device, not you.

All of this data is stored on our backend (Supabase) for as long as your leaderboard entry exists, is never sold, and is shared with no one beyond what's needed to run the leaderboard, friends list, and progress backup described above.

Data stored on your device

Your progress (best scores, streaks, unlocked cosmetics, and settings) is saved in local storage on your device. If you sign in with Google, the game also stores your Google session there (an access token, a refresh token, and the email/name Google returned), so you stay signed in between launches. None of this is uploaded anywhere beyond the specific syncing described above, and all of it is deleted if you uninstall the game or clear its data.

Advertising

Soul Rush shows optional rewarded video ads (for example, to revive after a death) served through Yodo1 MAS, a third-party ad mediation platform. Yodo1 MAS itself calls on a bundle of underlying ad networks (which can include, among others, AppLovin, Google AdMob, and Unity Ads) to actually fill and show an ad. See the Yodo1 Privacy Policy for how Yodo1 handles data, including which networks are active and their own policies.

To serve and measure ads, Yodo1 MAS and the networks it calls on may automatically collect device information such as your advertising identifier, IP address, coarse location derived from it, device model, and how you interact with the ads shown. PL Labs does not receive or store this data; it is processed by Yodo1 and its ad network partners under their own policies. Watching an ad is always your choice; ads are never shown without you tapping to request one.

You can limit ad personalization at any time from your device settings: on Android, Settings → Google → Ads lets you reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ads personalization. Where required by law, the game will ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown, and you may decline.

Analytics

The game does not use any analytics service beyond the measurement built into the advertising SDK described above.

Children

Soul Rush is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The ad network is configured to comply with applicable children's privacy rules on Google Play. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, a Google sign-in, or its ads, contact us and we will help address it.

Permissions

The game requests network access, used to submit and load leaderboard scores, sync friends and progress backup, sign in with Google, and load ads. Google Sign-In itself uses Android's built-in account picker and requests no permission beyond that. Soul Rush does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, files, or precise location.

Deleting your data

You can remove your own leaderboard entry yourself, at any time, from inside Soul Rush: open the leaderboard screen, tap REMOVE ME below your row, then confirm by tapping REMOVE. This immediately and permanently deletes your name, score, run duration, title, streak, device identifier, friends list, and, if you'd signed in with Google, both the link to your Google account and your backed-up progress bundle, from our database (Supabase). There is no undo, and we keep no backup copy afterward.

Signing out of Google (Settings → SIGN OUT) only forgets the session stored on that device; it does not delete your leaderboard entry or unlink your Google account, so signing back in still finds everything as you left it. Note that signing in creates an account record with Supabase (our backend provider) that holds your email address independently of your leaderboard entry; removing your leaderboard entry deletes the link to it, but not that underlying record — if you'd like it deleted too, email us and we'll remove it by hand.

If you no longer have access to the device that submitted the score and never linked a Google account to it (lost, reset, or the game reinstalled), email us at the address below with the display name shown on the board and we will remove the entry for you manually.

A leaderboard entry is otherwise kept indefinitely, with no automatic expiry, until you delete it yourself or ask us to. Progress stored only on your device (best scores, streaks, unlocked cosmetics, settings, and, if signed in, your Google session) is deleted the moment you uninstall the game or clear its data; beyond the leaderboard, friends, and progress-backup data described above, we never receive a copy of that data in the first place, so there is nothing further on our end to remove.

Changes to this policy

If the way the game handles data changes, for example if an SDK is added or removed, this page will be updated and the date above revised. Material changes will be noted in the game's store listing.
